Magnum Axxe, loosely translated from Latin and rock-n-roll jargon, means "Great Guitar." The band was formed in 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona, when drummer Barry Stewart met guitarist Horace Miller and they formed the group through a mutual love of heavy rock music. After adding Jim Warren on bass guitar, they began jamming on songs by groups like Dio and Fight, and soon began composing original music. After meeting Stewart at an Anthrax concert, Mark Keller completed the group as lead vocalist. With his lyrics and melodies added to the songs, everything was now in place for Magnum Axxe.
Welcome the newest member of Magnum Axxe, Roc Boyum - originally from Los Angeles, CA, he now resides in Phoenix, AZ. He fits in well with the band, as his favorite artists are Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dio, Arch Enemy, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Rush, Van Halen, Megadeth, Nightwish, Slipknot, Falling In Reverse and Garth Brooks, to name a few! Roc was also the co-writer of a song that was featured in the gothic horror film Lake Eerie, as well as the recipient of a Los Angeles Music Award. He's also the cofounder of the heavy metal magazine, LA Metal Media Magazine.
In his spare time, Roc likes doing concert photography, swimming, hiking and binge watching movies - his favorite is The Terminator franchise. His favorite sports team is the Arizona Suns (basketball), of which he says, "Devon Booker is the new Steve Nash."
